What is Liberty Tower at i-City, Shah Alam?

Liberty Tower is one of six residential towers inside the i-City precinct in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. It was built by i-City Properties, the property arm of I-Berhad, and named after New York, one of three towers named after cities, alongside Hyde for London's Hyde Park and Parisien for Paris. It runs to 46 storeys of SoHo units of roughly 466 to 769 square feet, which makes it the tallest of the three, and it connects to Central i-City mall by a pedestrian walk.

Which apartment at i-City has an oven and a proper kitchen?

My Liberty Tower unit at YourRetreat. It has an oven as well as a hob, a fridge with a freezer, pots, pans, dishes and cutlery, and a dining table to eat at rather than a counter, it is the one to take if you would rather cook than order in. My other unit, in Hyde Tower, has a hob, a microwave and a sandwich griller. Both have a washer and a drying rack.

Is the Liberty Tower apartment at i-City good for working from?

There is a desk set against the full-height window, and the dining table takes a laptop and a second person comfortably. The unit runs on fibre broadband. If connection speed is the thing that decides your trip, my other unit in Hyde Tower is the one on a 120 Mbps fibre line.

What is the view from the Liberty Tower apartment?

Over the park, with the city behind it, the quieter side to look at than the mall face, and it still catches the light park after dark. Liberty Tower is the tallest of the three newer towers at i-City at 46 storeys.

Worth knowing, because at i-City the tower decides more about a stay than the flat does.

Liberty Tower is one of six residential towers inside the i-City precinct, and one of the three newer ones named after cities, Liberty for New York, Parisien for Paris, and Hyde for London's Hyde Park. All were built by i-City Properties, the property arm of the company behind the theme park itself.

It is the tallest of the three at 46 storeys, and its SoHo units run from roughly 466 to 769 square feet. The part that matters day to day is that the tower connects to Central i-City mall by the pedestrian walk, dinner, a supermarket and a cinema without moving the car or opening an umbrella. Getting in

Self check-in with a lockbox, any time from 3pm.

Nobody to meet, no key handover to arrange around your flight. The code and your bay come through before you travel.

Sleeping

A queen bed, for up to three guests.

Extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe, room-darkening blinds on the windows. One bedroom, one and a half bathrooms.

The kitchen

Oven, hob, fridge with a freezer, and a table to actually eat at.

Pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, cooking basics and cleaning things. This is the unit to take if you'd rather cook than order in for the third night running, the other one has a hob but no oven.

Working here

A desk in the corner, against the window.

The dining table takes a laptop and a second person comfortably. If the connection is the deciding factor for your trip, Hyde Tower is the one on the 120 Mbps fibre line.

Parking

One free bay in the building, reserved for you and included.

You drive in and park under cover rather than circling the public deck on a Saturday night. There's paid parking in the building too if you arrive with a second car.

In this climate things are dry by the next morning, which is what makes a two-week stay here work with hand luggage.
